Test
HORIZONS Helicobacter Test is
intended to determine an active H.pylori infection in the stomach caused by this bacteria.
Helicobacter pylori is the primary cause of peptic ulcer disease and gastritis.
This is the only non-invasive, non-radioactive breath test thats may be used to diagnose
active H. pylori infection, pre-treatment as well as monitor post treatment to ensure
eradication.
HORIZONS Helicobacter Test can be used on Adult patients as
well as children.
HORIZONS Helicobacter Test utilises
an Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS) for measurement of 13CO2/12CO2 ratio in the collected breath samples. The samples are
collected in sealed breath tubes, which can be mailed to a qualified analytical
laboratory.
HORIZONS Helicobacter Test Diagnostic Test Kit contains: a 100 mg 13C-urea tablet for oral solution, 4 labelled breath
sample container, bendable straw for breath collection, Patient information and
documentation. The outer package can be used for postage of the breath samples.
